Stephanie Rivas

Stephanie Rivas is our little adventurer. She is the first person in her whole family to go to college and has decided to devote her life to the service other others. Stephanie is a junior at Union College enrolled in the International Rescue Program. She loves rock-climbing and running and serenading the rest of the team with her guitar. Her favorite verse in the Bible is James 1:3-4 which says, “Knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. Caleb Jesudasson

Caleb Jesudasson is a junior Health Information Management Pre-Med major at La Sierra University. An L.A. native, Caleb loves going to Disneyland, the beach, and just hanging out with friends. He came to Peru to gain more experience serving people through healthcare. He has definitely been getting that experience through being on the dental team – he’s a professional at pulling teeth. Jonathan Bohlman

Our other proud representative of the Oregon Coast, Jonathan Bohlman came to Peru with two goals. One of them was to learn Spanish. And the more important one was to see a different side of God. Jonathan’s job in Peru includes doing ecological work and he has also become an expert pill counter from working in the pharmacy. He is a junior Business Pre-Med major at Walla Walla University. Jenessa King

Jenessa King has been named “The Mother” of our group. She’s always willing to lend a helping hand and comfort where needed. These character traits will be of great help to her throughout her life because she wants to be a Pediatrician. She’s currently a senior at Southern Adventist University studying Biology. She has been getting lots of experience working with kids while working as a Community Ambassador and teacher. Her favorite thing about working with A.M.O.R. is the family environment. Hanna Melara

Hanna Melara comes from the dry deserts of Arizona. Currently a junior graphic design major at Southern Adventist University, Hanna came to Peru for an adventure and for an opportunity to expand her horizons. In her free time she loves to go camping, rock climbing, and to the beach. Her favorite foods here in Peru are rice and beans with more rice and beans! Oh, and lots of mangos. Her job of Project Promoter at A.M.O.R. Projects consists of everything from picking up the mail to taking pictures to creating the newsletter and everything in between (including pulling some teeth)! Elias Pua

A 17 year-old ball of fun, Elias is the baby of the group. One thing that everyone loves about Elias is his laugh. He can get the whole room laughing together once he starts laughing. Besides laughing, Elias loves to listen to music, play soccer, and eat rice and chicken. He also likes being able to work with his big brother Daniel Pua here at A.M.O.R. Projects. Lauren Christensen
“Let us not become weary in doing good for at the proper time we will reap the harvest if we do not give up.” Lauren Christensen’s life definitely reflects her favorite verse found in Galatians 6:9. Currently a junior at Southern Adventist University, she is studying History and also doing Pre-Med. She wants to someday become a surgeon. Rachel Downey

Rachel Downey is our mid-west sweetheart. A Kansas native, she is currently a third year nursing student at Union College in Nebraska. She claims that volleyball is the only sport that exists and loves Thursday nights when we can all play together. Her favorite things to do are spending time with her boyfriend Mitchell, her family, and all her friends, playing volleyball, exercising, shopping, reading, singing, meeting new people, trying new ice cream flavors, and going to Starbucks. Rebecca Daniel

Rebecca Daniel is a junior in college studying Spanish with both Art and Education minors. She loves to eat Thai food, spend time with her family and friends, rock climb, swim, and spend time with her Heavenly Father. She is so grateful to be in Peru. “I’m happy to be able to meet so many different people and connect with them so quickly!” Her favorite chapter in the bible is John 17, which talks about unity with God. Lucho Leon is one nice guy. He’s always smiling and always has something nice to say. He just became a brand new father in September and is very happy about his little angel, Ashley Bernadette. His favorite food is a Peruvian dish called escabeche. He also loves playing soccer. But most of all he loves it when everyone is united in their work and no one fights or argues. Chris Vraa comes to the team from Riverside, California. He is a junior Business major at La Sierra University. His dream is to become a Doctor. His time with A.M.O.R. Projects has consisted of being on both the dental and manual labor teams. Some of his favorite things to do are spend time with friends, go to the beach and Disneyland, and listen to music. Erick Salcedo

If you want to have a good laugh, Erick Salcedo would be the person to go to. He is always joking around and giving the SM’s a hard time about stuff, but it’s all in love. He loves playing soccer, listening to music, watching movies (especially the ones with lots of action and suspense), and eating fish. The things that he likes the most about working with A.M.O.R. Projects is that he always gets to make new friends. He also likes the peacefulness of the work and working as a team. Birthday – November 27 |
Evelina Negru

Evelina Negru comes to A.M.O.R. Projects from Atlanta, Georgia. Born and raised in Romania and an avid world traveler, she beings a fresh point of view and a lot of laughter to our team. She is currently working as a Dental Assistant and also does Bible Work in Atlanta. She likes working outdoors, hiking through the jungle, spending time reading the Bible, and making the guys laugh at her Spanish, which is often mixed with Romanian, French, and Italian! Daniel Ruiz

Daniel Ruiz loves people. He loves to laugh and converse with everyone on the team and one of his favorite things to do is to have and make lots of friends. He would be happy if he could eat only chicken for the rest of his life. Especially backed chicken. He loves playing soccer and volleyball. He wants to be a good worker at the end of time by sharing the news about the second coming of Jesus with others. Birthday – October 20 |
Alfonso Rodriguez

If anyone on our team were to be named Future Pastor, it would be Alfonso Rodriguez. He is currently the leader of the small church at Yerbas Buenas and is very active in the happenings of the church. His life is an awesome example that you can serve God wherever you are, whether it’s behind a pulpit or in the chacras. He wants to go to Lima to study Theology. Some of the things that he likes are eating arroz con pollo, playing soccer, and reading. Birthday – May 14 |
Daniel Pua

Daniel Pua is the family man of our team. He lives on the base with his wife Susan and his two little kids, Charli and Jacqueline. He is a very hard worker and a very good father. Anthony Howell

Anthony Howell is a Lincoln City native and he’s proud to be representing the Oregon Coast. He is a sophomore at Walla Walla University and is pursuing a career in either Social Work or Information Technology. He came to Peru to learn Spanish and to gain new experiences and a new perspective on life. He’s been working with the manual labor and ecological team but has also been helping where needed in the pharmacy. He loves to spend time at the coast skim boarding and hang out with friends.
